Steven Levy talks to Ray Ozzie about Talko, a new multimedia chat app aimed at groups. My ten-minute play with Talko wasn’t promising, even though aspects – like recorded calls, colour-coded by speaker – are very neat. Mainly I just don’t think normal humans adopt complex technology easily, and consumer stuff finds its way into enterprise more easily than the reverse. It reminds me a bit of Google Wave: a utopian vision that requires all its users to adopt it consciously and uncynically.
