Walking the ridiculously long avenues of the boroughs of New York is our new jam. Following up from our Broadway adventure of a few weeks back, we spent Sunday walking the length of Flatbush Avenue, from Tillary St in downtown Brooklyn to a bit beyond Avenue V.
Importantly, I ate beautiful fresh spinach empañadas at Cesar’s truck near Atlantic-Barclays, goat curry roti at Caribbean bakery Bake & Things not far from Brooklyn College, and apple pie at Floridian Diner (the pie was terrible, but the building and decor had to be seen to be believed).
It was cold, but I love the rhythm and speed of walking, and it’s such a great way to spend time with people.
Our next attack will be Bedford Av, from Sheepshead Bay up to Greenpoint.
